Nestled in the mountains is a site of geothermal hot springs, a rare place of comfort in the otherwise unforgiving north. Pools of warm water bubble and spit, and hot steam curls off the surface, frosting the trees with ice. The water is rich in mineral content and has healing properties, making it a go-to place for wolves with severe cases of mange or other maladies. The wolves in the North often lounge in and around the springs to avoid the bone-chilling cold, especially in winter.
