The Bend is a sharp curve in Grayling Creek and a fishing hole well-loved by Kodiian bears and wolves alike. Fish flow through the current year-round, and in spring, salmon infest the chilly waters, attracting many predators to the feast. A rocky hill overlooks the innermost banks, shrouded by tall, thin firs, and both sides of the banks are wide and pebbled, sometimes underwater when the creek overflows.
